WITH IKIGAI SAILING

March 27th - April 5th, 2024
THROUGH THE GRENADINE ISLANDS

Breathe, Sail & Flow Retreat

A water immersion in the Caribbean Sea
With Yoga, freediving & Janzu

Calling all ocean lovers

Do you have a passion for freedom, self discovery and sustainable living?

Welcome to a one of a kind experience that blends a sailing adventure with a well-being retreat.

Each day will expand your horizon as we sail some of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean and explore underwater wonders.

We'll spend our days bonding with our breath, moving our bodies, eating amazing food and connecting to the ocean in unforgettable ways. We'll enjoy our nights anchored under the stars in remote bays and share unbelievable sunrises aboard our floating home away from home.

Our onboard culinary lovers will be crafting up some nutritious meals using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients so that you can dine al fresco with a view.

And for those who want, we will integrate an intro into freediving, or take a deeper dive into tantric breathwork. We're open to hearing what you're most interested in, so let us know when you book.

This is open to all levels, for you to dive deeper into your practice (and the water), cultivate presence and invest time with like-minded individuals who share your love for inner and outer adventure.

You'll be among a small group of up to 6 guests (invite a friend/partner or bunk buddy and you'll receive an extra discount!) We'll be departing from the Martinica Island, sailing with the wind all the way to Tobago Cays.

As this is a curated experience, our space is limited. Secure your spot now and join us for an unforgettable adventure together at sea.

We look forward to welcoming you to experience what it feels like to live on the ocean.

About Freediving, Janzu & Water Dance

Discovery Freediving

Get ready to get deep into your amphibian being! With this activity you will learn the principles of holding your breath, equalizing and properly dive underwater. Freediving will be the space for connecting with your breath, challenging your mind and get more security about yourself. You will be impressed about your amphibian capacity!

Janzu Therapy

Janzu means “pacified river” and the purpose of a session is to calm you down and relax your body. By getting into a state of deep relaxation, the appearance of unconscious memories and repressed emotions can finally be released.

Janzu therapy can be felt as a rebirth experience. It expands our sensory perception, leading to deep states of presence. You will get at least one unforgettable session.

Water dance

Imagine you become liquid, your body becomes fully liquid; no music, no floor, just your body moving and floating free. Water dance is a unique and very intuitive experience in which we can get in touch with our deeper being, a feeling of freedom and a deep listening to the self body and the others. We are sure you will lose the pace of time while dancing in the Caribbean sea.

The Logistics

You'll fly into the Martinique Aime Cesaire International Airport (Fort de France) which is the major hub for international travel to the French West Indies. You'll meet us at the Marina by Wednesday afternoon the 27th of March 2024. Flights and transfers to the marina are not included.

From there we'll depart for our full all inclusive 10 day adventure.

After a final breakfast aboard on Friday April 5th 2024, you'll say goodbye from the same marina we started at. We can help arrange transport to and from the airport or your ongoing destination.

Will I get seasick?

Probably not, given the stability of a big catamaran. Generally at anchor you are unlikely to feel seasick since we anchor in flat water, so it is easy and comfortable to sleep, take a bath or eat. However, whilst sailing between spots it is possible to feel seasick. But it is hard to say beforehand whether or not you are prone to seasickness. Not to worry, seasickness tablets are very effective! Usually after a couple of days your body has adjusted to the motion. Start drinking water with sodium bicarbonate might help.

Do I have to become an Ikigai member in order to join this retreat?

Yes! Upon filling out our booking form you will receive an email from us with a link to the Ikigai association membership page. The membership is valid for 1 year and is included in the retreat price, since it is a non-profit association.

What are the arrival and departure times?

You'll fly into the Martinique Aime Cesaire International Airport (Fort de France) on Wednesday afternoon the 27th of March, 2024. We will help you organize your transport to meet us at the marina by sundown. We will drop you off in the same marina we picked you up at, and can help arrange transport to your ongoing destination. Departure will be after breakfast onboard on the Friday the 5th of April. We will be in touch via WhatsApp and email in the days leading up to your arrival to confirm arrival info.

DO I NEED TO BE EXPERIENCED IN YOGA, MEDITATION AND FREEDIVING?

You do not have to have done yoga, meditation, freediving or water dancing before but you will get the most from this experience if you are at least excited to learn and engage with this element of the trip. With that said, the sessions are also optional if you are not feeling it on some days. We have years of teaching experience and will adapt to everyone’s needs and goals to make sure you get the most out of your trip!

What is Janzu?

Janzu means “pacified river” and the purpose of a session is to calm you down and relax your body. By getting into a state of deep relaxation, the appearance of unconscious memories and repressed emotions can finally be released.
Janzu therapy can be felt as a rebirth experience. It expands our sensory perception, leading to deep states of presence.

The idea of water therapy and holding my breath makes me feel nervous…

Facing fear in a supportive and safe environment is a big part of this journey together. Freediving and Janzu are unique activities that help you find your edge and become aware of any fears or resistance you might have. Our instructors and facilitators are trained and certified to be guiding you through these experiences.

Do I need travel insurance?

We highly recommend you to get travel insurance, but it is not mandatory.
The ikigai membership that is included in this retreat will offer you basic insurance for the activities provided onboard, however that does not include cancellation, or trip complications. We recommend you take out travel insurance within 15 days of booking your retreat and that your insurance covers your costs if your retreat is canceled or postponed.

Will I need to bring cash with me?

Yes! We highly recommend you to bring some cash; if you choose to venture off the boat for transportation and meals. You probably you wont need more than $300 usd. Will recommend you to bring some extra if you want to buy souvenirs or if you find some local treasures.
We remind you that the currency in Martinique is the euro while in the Grenadines it is the East Caribbean dollar (if necessary you will have the possibility to withdraw cash from the ATMs)

Booking Policy & Cancellations

The not so fun but very important part!

Booking policy:
After filling out our booking form with your information, you will receive an email with a link to complete your booking with the Ikigai membership, as well as a link for your 25% deposit to secure you spot. Your booking is confirmed upon receipt of the deposit. The remaining balance is due 1 month prior to departure (ie. February 27th, 2024). This can be made in separate payments upon request. The full balance must be paid prior to the beginning of the retreat.

Cancellations:
If you will no longer be able to attend, you may cancel up until 1 month before our voyage to receive full refund including your 25% deposit. For cancellations made less than one month before the start of our trip, the deposit will not be refunded.
Since the experiences aboard Ikigai are confirmed upon reaching a minimum of participants, if for any reason or extenuating circumstance occurs and we do not reach the minimum number of people, the deposit and payment received will be returned. We recommend some travel insurance to cover this eventuality.

Travel requirements and insurance:
The insurance on the boat is basic insurance for students of water sport activities. You are responsible for ensuring that you have a valid passport, any necessary visas and any necessary or required health documents.
You are responsible for arranging your own travel insurance which should cover you for the activities you plan to undertake and have adequate cover for travel delay, cancellation, medical expenses and your personal belongings. We recommend you take out travel insurance within 15 days of booking your retreat and that your insurance covers your costs if your retreat is cancelled or postponed.

Group conduct:
Guests who are deemed to be acting in a way that is inappropriate towards our crew, other guests or people in the local environment may be asked to leave. Inappropriate conduct includes verbal abuse, aggressive behavior and violence, repeatedly disruptive behavior, consuming excessive alcohol or drugs, sexual harassment, including sexual comments and unwanted touching. It also includes unwelcome behavior that intimidates, offends or humiliates a person because of a particular personal characteristic such as age, race, gender, disability, religion or sexuality.
No refund will be given in this circumstance and all costs for early departure must be met by the guest.
